Erik Ten Hag is hoping that these two Manchester United stars return for their matchup against Aston Villa

Manchester United are looking to take on Aston Villa on Boxing Day. The Red Devils have had a disastrous season. The Villans on the other hand are enjoying some of the best football that the team has ever played.

In defence of Erik Ten Hag, the Dutchman has been dealing with an underequipped squad all season long. The injury plague at Old Trafford has left the team without some of their biggest stars.

But, the situation seems to be looking up ahead of their game against The Villans. Erik Ten Hag hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but he is hopeful that Raphael Varane and Amad Diallo will be available for the game.

The return of Raphael Varane will help the Dutchman put forward a stronger defensive line. The Frenchman showcased his class during The Red Devils’ battle at Anfield and will be counted on again.

Amad Diallo on the other hand is kind of a wildcard. The 21-year-old has tremendous potential but doesn’t have a lot of experience under his belt. Playing Diallo could prove to have catastrophic results for Ten Hag.

Another youngster who was given a chance during Manchester United’s last game was Kobbie Mainoo. The 18-year-old gave the ball away near his own goal and West Ham United put one in to make it 2-0.

More Manchester United News-

Erik Ten Hag has told Manchester Evening News, that he is hopeful for a Raphael Varane return on Boxing Day. Maybe Amad Diallo could also be on the field.

Putting the Frenchman back in the lineup could help the Duthman get the result that he desires.

However, fans would not be very receptive to the idea of playing an unproven striker like Diallo in such a crucial game.

Manchester United absolutely cannot afford to lose their match against Aston Villa.
