Manchester United picks a side as European Super League wins legal battle against UEFA
Manchester United has picked a side in the battle of the European Super League and UEFA. Following their legal trial, a verdict was rolled out in favour of the Super League.
The European Court of Justice believes that UEFA’s attempt at banning the Super League was illegal. They also hold the view that UEFA has been abusing their dominant position for quite some time now.
Fans are now split. While some believe that the Super League will give control back to the clubs, others say that it will spell the end of domestic football and smaller clubs.
Amidst all of this, The Red Devils have made their intent to not be a part of the Super League clear. If other ‘football giants’ also refuse to participate, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona’s attempt to revive the controversial format will be in vain

“Manchester United said they remain committed to playing in competitions run by UEFA despite Thursday’s EU court verdict which said Europe’s soccer governing body and FIFA contravened EU law by preventing the formation of a Super League,”
What’s interesting about their current stance is that Manchester United were one of 12 clubs that announced the Super League in the past. However, after some massive backlash from fans, the decision was overturned.
Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Paris-Saint Germain have also spoken up. They do not intend to be a part of the European Super League either.
