Manchester United chief Erik ten Hag has seemingly broken an Old Trafford tradition with Andre Onana. The team was spotted in training ahead of their match against the Hammers.
During the olden days, it was tradition for the Manchester United goalkeepers to do their own thing in practice. Meanwhile, the other players trained with each other as they looked to improve upon their shortcomings.
However, during the Red Devils’ most recent training session, something unusual was afoot. Onana was seen participating in close-quarter drills along with the rest of the team.
Fans have relentlessly bashed the Cameroonian goalkeeper for his distribution. Allowing him to train with the rest of the team could be seen as Ten Hag’s way to rectify the issue.
Moreover, playing out from the back has become increasingly important in modern-day football. The Dutchman’s decision will most likely help the 27-year-old improve his performance on the pitch.
Andre Onana proved that he is a solid goalkeeper during Manchester United’s game against Liverpool. He made it increasingly difficult for the Reds to score stopping a total of eight shots on target (fot.mob).
Hopefully, their recent training session will help the team be more creative as they start to play out from the back.
