Owen Hargreaves advocates for former Liverpool striker, nudges Manchester United to swoop in and seal the deal
Owen Hargreaves believes that former Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke can put an end to Manchester United’s attacking woes. The former Red Devil has been urging the Old Trafford squad to make a move for Solanke.
Dominic Solanke has actually contributed to Man United’s troubles this season. He found himself on the scoresheet when the Cherries travelled to Old Trafford and put Ten Hag on the wrong side of history as they handed him a 3-0 loss.
In 193 appearances for Bournemouth Solanke has made a massive contribution scoring 65 goals and providing 28 assists (Transfermarkt). Due to his extraordinary run this season, the player is expected to garner interest from all over Europe.
With the horrendous output of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in mind, Hargreaves might be onto something here.
In 19 appearances this season Solanke has managed to score 9 goals, this puts him at 5 goals above the combined contribution of both Rashford and Martial. After 19 games, the 2 of them are both sitting at 2 goals each (Transfermarkt).
Despite two failed stints at Liverpool and Tottenham, Hargreaves has still advocated for Solanke as he holds the belief that the player has matured and needs to be playing on the big stage.

But, the chances of Dominic Solanke playing at Old Trafford in January are still very slim. Manchester United must offload some players before they can even think about setting their eyes on the former Liverpool striker.
Limited availability of financial resources can end up becoming a thorn in Ten Hag’s plans as he sets out to bolster his squad in January.
