Manchester United are planning on sending a last-minute loanee back to Tottenham Hotspur as a break clause comes to light

At the behest of Ten Hag, Manchester United made a last-minute signing this past summer. This resulted in Sergio Reguilon becoming a part of the Old Trafford squad.

Over his time at the club, the Spanish national has grown to be adored by the fans. With cheers lauding him on whenever he takes the field the 26-year-old is yet to disappoint.

However, depending on Manchester United’s injury situation, a break clause present in his loan agreement could put an end to Reguilon’s stint under Ten Hag, stated ESPN.

It would make sense for the Red Devils to hold on to a player like Reguilon. But, it seems like the Dutchman has other plans.

Following the full recovery of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, Reguilon will struggle to get minutes which will be detrimental to his growth. Not an ideal situation for the player.

On the other hand, minutes are not guaranteed for him in Postecoglou’s system either. With his growth hanging in the balance, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will soon meet to discuss the 26-year-old’s future.

Though fans would love to see Reguilon become a permanent addition to the Old Trafford squad, the chances of that happening are extremely slim.

After looking at how the team has struggled, many have begun to ponder whether Ten Hag can afford to lose Reguilon. Fans are now hoping that management can make the right calls to strengthen the squad in January.
