Erik Ten Hag makes his feelings clear as Frankfurt makes an ‘early’ move on Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Ten Hag has made it crystal clear that he won’t stand in the way of Donny van de Beek should the Dutchman wish to leave. The comment was made after the Dutch National put together a string of disappointing performances and was plagued by injuries.
According to 90min (h/t Mirror), Eintracht Frankfurt have been knocking on Manchester United’s door as they hope to get a deal done for Donny van de Beek. Since, Ten Hag has already given his blessing all that’s left to do is negotiate a transfer.
Fans must be wondering why The Dutchman would give the go-ahead on a deal for Van De Beek. Especially after the two of them have a shared history from their time with AFC Ajax.
Well, things are seldom as simple as they seem. Let’s have a look at what the Dutchman had to say.
“I don’t think a loan [makes] sense. It’s either he fights [for] himself and proves himself, in this atmosphere in this environment, or he goes.”
While it can be said that Ten Hag has been indifferent to the presence of the Dutchman on the Red Devils’ roster. One could also say that the United chief was trying to motivate the 26-year-old.
Whatever the case may be the decision to leave will ultimately come down to Van De Beek. Ten Hag has already cleared that he can either fight for his minutes or he can go.
The possibility of the Dutch national departing is very high. Though, No one can say anything for sure until a deal is signed.
