Sir Alex Ferguson’s success at Manchester United seems impossible to replicate when looking at this stat from X.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s glory with Manchester United has been etched in the history books and will probably never be replicated. Following the Red Devils’ UCL exit at the hands of Bayern, now is the best time to reminisce about the glory days.
His legendary run at the helm of Manchester United was one for the ages. During his 26 years with the club, the man won 13 Premier League and 2 UCL titles (Transfermarkt). Moreover, he led the team to a treble in 1999 which was a first in the history of English football.
This can be looked at in another way. Though it might sting, the same team that knocked out Ten Hag and his men were once beaten by Sir Alex Ferguson to win the UCL and eventually the club’s only treble.
Following in the footsteps of Sir Alex is an unachievable feat. Even if we go by the standards of Manchester United, the man was cut from a different cloth.
The current state of the club saddens people when they look at what it used to be. But, this is the reality and fans will have to keep faith in the players and Ten Hag as they rally themselves up after their UCL exit.
If fans keep holding managers to the standards of Sir Alex it will only end in disappointment. Instead, Man United supporters should look forward to the future and firmly stand behind their club during this period of turmoil.
