Manchester United eyeing January deal for Wolves star Pedro Neto
Wolves star Pedro Neto has been one of the shining lights in an otherwise difficult campaign and is now attracting interest from Premier League giants Manchester United.
The Red Devils are slowly getting their own campaign back on track and could give themselves a nudge in the right direction by bringing in reinforcements in the upcoming 2024 January transfer window.
One area that could do with additions is the forward line. Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have been far from prolific this season while Rasmus Hojlund is still developing. Alejandro Garnacho has his moments but is also far from the finished product.
Adding that cutting edge in front of the goal could do wonders for Erik ten Hag’s side in the second half of the season. One player who can help unlock opposition defences is Neto, who continues to shine at The Molineux.
Primarily a right winger, Neto is also capable of doing a job down the left. Antony has been a flop since moving to Old Trafford while Jadon Sancho’s stint as a Red Devils star appears done and dusted. With Mason Greenwood’s career at the club uncertain and Amad Diallo struggling with fitness, Ten Hag can do with a Premier League proven wideman.
According to Fichajes, the Red Devils view the 23-year-old as a direct replacement for Antony. Given his age, there is every reason to believe that the Portuguese international can be a mainstay in the Red Devils lineup for years to come.
More so, he can also build a relationship with fellow Iberian teammates Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, adding a new dimension on the right flank for the Red Devils. While injuries remain a concern, Neto has the makings of a truly inspired addition, especially midway through the season.

While Erik ten Hag has largely been backed in the transfer window, not all of his calls have played out well on the pitch. While Neto succeeding at Old Trafford is far from a given, his prior experience in the English game should at least make it easier for us to throw him into the far end. Whether the 23-year-old will don Red come February remains to be seen.
