Wolverhampton Wanderers want Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo in the upcoming transfer window
According to Football Transfers (h/t Manchester Evening News), Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Amad Diallo who has been a brilliant short-term signing for Sunderland.
Amad suffered a preseason injury and is making his way back to Old Trafford this summer. The forward has not yet been judged well enough to be included in a matchday squad, even if he has been training recently.
Though Diallo would undoubtedly benefit from regular playing time, it could be challenging for him to start at Manchester United ahead of players like Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, or Antony.
Diallo had a productive loan stint at Sunderland the previous campaign. In 39 Championship games, he scored an outstanding 14 goals, which helped the Black Cats advance to the playoffs. The young winger could benefit from going on loan to Wolves if Ten Hag chooses not to utilise him this season. There’s no denying that he has the potential to be among the top players in the future.
Wolves have also released high earners like Adama Traore and Joao Moutinho. Thus, Amad is a realistic aim for the team in advance of January. We hope that if Amad joins Wolves he can play a pivotal role for the club he will join and gain more confidence as we have already witnessed during his tenure in Sunderland. We believe it’s a great opportunity to finally get some minutes in this competitive league.

Therefore, if Neto does depart in January, Diallo might be brought in to take his position. However, Diallo might still compete with players like Hwang Hee-chan and Pablo Sarabia on the opposing wing if Neto stays. In light of this, it will be intriguing to watch whether Wolves make a firm bid for Diallo in January.
