Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag praises Harry Maguire after his brilliant performance against Fulham
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is full of praise for the former captain Harry Maguire after another emphatic performance against Fulham. Harry Maguire sustained injuries to his head and hand during Manchester United’s victory over Fulham.
Bruno Fernandes scored the lone goal at Craven Cottage in the ninetieth minute, and United has won two of its six Premier League games this season thanks to goals in injury time. Despite Maguire being almost injured in the first half he still carried on showing his dedication.
After the game Ten Hag:
“He was playing a massive, massive game, a very good performance. He showed leadership in and out of possession, he was very good. So I’m very pleased with that performance from Harry.”
After just 39 seconds of play, Maguire stopped due to a collision with Muniz Carvalho. After being examined by Gary O’Driscoll, the club doctor, the United defender cleared the concussion protocol. Erik ten Hag later revealed that Maguire’s second-half injury was a hand injury.
Joao Palhinha made a rare mistake in the Fulham box, and Fernandes punished him with a goal that brought the Cottagers’ Premier League losing streak to three. Maguire is now responding to the criticism he has got for his performances by starting six straight games for United in all competitions.
In Lisandro Martinez’s absence—the United teammate Evans has formed a strong partnership—Maguire has taken advantage of Martinez’s injury. For the match at Fulham, the England international even started ahead of Varane, the former star of Real Madrid, and he put on another strong performance from beginning to end.
