Manchester United are ready to offer Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior over €20 million in wages
Manchester United lack a reliable winger who is a prolific goal scorer, something Real Madrid ace Vinicius Junior excels at.
Mohamed Salah has changed the way that Premier League sides look at wingers since his arrival at Liverpool. Players of the ilk are more inside forwards who bear the brunt of putting the ball in the back of the net instead of just offering width.
While Manchester United have depth in the role, they are struggling to see a single name step up and be counted. Jadon Sancho is sidelined while Antony continues to run into brick walls without making much of an impact.
Amad Diallo is out injured while the less said about Mason Greenwood the better. Marcus Rashford’s poor run of form has not helped either. A dynamic attacker is certainly lacking on the Old Trafford roster.
According to Fichajes, Manchester United are keen to rectify it and have earmarked Real Madrid ace Vinicius Junior as a target. The Brazilian is one of the Spanish giants’ top players and has impressed for both club and country in recent times.
The Red Devils are ready to offer the 23-year-old a mammoth paycheque that should net him over €20 million a year in wages. It will make the Brazilian one of the best-paid players in the top flight and also display the faith the Manchester giants have in his ability.
However, despite the willingness to open their chequebook, the English giants are unlikely to find much encouragement from the player. Vinicius is already at a European behemoth in Real Madrid and is part of their long-term plans for domestic and European dominance.
Apart from money, what exactly he can gain by moving to Old Trafford right now is debatable. While we should jump at the chance to land the player, the chances of it actually coming to fruition remain unlikely.
