Manchester United are interested in the Brentford striker Ivan Toney to assist Rasmus Hojlund in scoring more goals

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United have reignited their interest in Brentford striker Ivan Toney. The reason behind is that United want a player assisting Rasmus Hojlund in scoring goals on a regular basis.

In Europe, the Denmark striker scored three times but he still remains without a goal against his name in the Premier League since his transfer from Atalanta. Ahead of the transfer window in January, the recruitment team are tracking players across Europe to ease pressure off the Danish international.

Toney has resumed first-team training while still serving an eight-month ban for breaking gambling laws. He is eligible to play again on January 17. This means he will be raring to go for the second half of the season.

A January addition would not only provide much-needed firepower but also relieve some of the strain on Hojlund. With that in mind, it seems that United’s recruitment department is keeping an eye on seasoned striking talent throughout Europe.

The England striker Ivan Toney, who plays for Brentford, is expected to leave in 2024, and United are reportedly keeping an eye on his condition.

There was an issue about his United debut because the 20-year old arrived with a back injury at Old Trafford. There’s an impression at United that Hojlund would do well being supported by a more experienced striker upfront.

Considering Hojlund’s youth, United is thinking about bringing in a more experienced centre-forward at the beginning of the season. A short-term fix certainly would help advance Hojlund’s career and aid his development in the long run.

Still, it’s indisputable that Toney has become more formidable over time. He is a seasoned forward in the Premier League and won’t require much time to adjust.
