Manchester United also want the Club America defender Sebastian Caceres despite Spurs’ interest
According to the Mexican newspaper Record (via the Team Talk) [h/t Manchester Evening News], Manchester United may be interested in signing Sebastian Caceres, despite the fact that Tottenham are believed to be the front-runners for his services.
Spurs are on a red-hot form now and it seems they might win the league if they maintain this consistency. This might help Spurs lure the player to their side.
His contract expires in 2024 (Transfermarkt). He might develop into a good financial choice, but he might not have the talent to play for United or another elite continental team. Nevertheless, based on his Uruguayan performances, he might have the aptitude to quickly pick up new techniques.
In each of Uruguay’s previous four World Cup qualifying matches, Sebastian Caceres has played 90 minutes with Ronald Araujo, a top player for Barcelona.
Young defender Santiago Bueno of Wolves has been benched as a result of his performances. Since joining Club America in January 2020, the 24-year-old has made 109 appearances for the team, having previously played for Uruguayan team Liverpool.
Caceres, who was born in Monteviedo, is 5 feet 11 inches tall and usually plays as the right centre-back position. This is a place that United have a crisis at the moment. Varane is a player who is an injury prone. He has already missed a number of games this season but was finally back against FC Copenhagen.
This however doesn’t solve our problems. We need a player at the heart of the defence who is available for the majority of the season. This is where Caceres steps in to fill the void.
We think Caceres’ contribution to this Manchester United system will help him score more goals and perform his defensive duties with ease. This can be a terrific opportunity for him to showcase his class, especially at the age at which he can feature for our club. The Premier League is undoubtedly the most tough tournament that will put a player to the test. We think that his joining United will improve his playing qualities and benefit us defensively as well.
