Manchester United to compete with other Premier League clubs for Julian Hall

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are interested in signing Julian Hall despite knowing that Chelsea are still the favourites to lure the player to London.

Since Hall participated for the New York Red Bulls U-15 team in a Generation Adidas Cup encounter against the Blues in April, Chelsea in particular have shown interest in him. The Blues have since been attempting to get him to Cobham for a trial before his 16th birthday in January.

Following Hall’s agreement to join the team last month, Red Bulls director of sport Jochen Schneider stated (Metro) :

“We are very excited to add Julian to our roster for this season and also the long term. Julian has had a very good season, not just at the academy level, but the MLS NEXT Pro level as well and he has demonstrated that he has the qualities to succeed in our system.”

It seems that NYRB are not under any pressure to sell the prodigy. Known for developing young players and transferring them across the clubs they own at various stages in their careers, Julian Hall might want to stay there for now.

Additionally, if the Red Bulls decide to let him go later, they might be able to demand a bigger transfer fee.

Signing Hall could be beneficial in adding more squad depth in the attacking regions. However, he might not be ready to jump up to the first team yet. Adding him can be a long-term solution for our team.
