Manchester United learn price tag for French defender Jean-Clair Todibo

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News) Manchester United have learnt the asking price for the OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo and it stands at €40m. Newcastle United and Liverpool are also keeping an eye on the 23-year-old.

With an eye towards the future, Manchester United are interested in Jean-Clair Todibo, a promising 23-year-old centre-back for OGC Nice. They are looking at him to reinforce their squad in January.

Several clubs have taken notice of the former Barcelona defender following his impressive displays for the club. Man United seem to be the keenest among the lot to acquire his signature.

Manchester United’s defence is not the greatest one going around. Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are great but both have their fair share of injury issues. The options beyond those two does not inspire much confidence.

Last season, the French defender was a superstar for Nice. However, he will know at the back of his mind that there is a ceiling for the Ligue 1 club and with his talent, he deserves to be playing at a higher level.

Todibo has already been at a big club in his life but it did not go down too well. His time at Barcelona was a disaster and people quickly forgot what a big talent he was. Ernesto Valverde placed more faith in Ronald Araujo and one cannot fault him for that.

Now, that Lisandro Martinez is set to be out for a significant period of time, the need for quality backup becomes even more imminent. Signing another defender could be crucial in helping the team concede a lesser number of goals.

More Manchester United News-

Lindelof, Maguire and Evans do not really seem like the ideal defenders to have in the squad. Todibo can come in and potentially challenge Varane for a starting spot. Let’s see if we can get this deal done.
