Agent of former Manchester United target Lautaro Martinez confirms his dedication to Inter Milan
According to the Express, the agent of Lautaro Martinez has confirmed that the Argentinian World Cup winner has no idea of leaving Inter Milan despite all the interest in him from Saudi and elsewhere.
According to TeamTalk (h/t Express), Manchester United were ready to contest with Arsenal for Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan to bolster the team’s attack.
Lautaro Martinez, Inter Milan’s captain and superb striker, has managed to stave off considerable interest since the summer of 2021. His passion for the Italian club knows no bounds.
Clubs were interested in signing the 26-year-old World Cup winner before that, but a contract extension agreed upon that year ensured that he would be with Inter until 2026.
Martinez’s agent, Alejandro Camano, has provided an update on his whereabouts. He has dismissed any suggestion of a move to Saudi Arabia, claiming that the forward simply wants to stay at Inter.
Camano (his agent) stated to TV Play (h/t Express):
“Saudi Arabia is a market full of temptations, and Lautaro received many proposals but not only from there. But Whenever I tell him about these possibilities, he says ‘Inter, only Inter’.
“The affinity he shares with the fans and the club is incredible. The sense of belonging to the project and the group is important.
“Lautaro didn’t listen to any club other than Inter. He’s with the Nerazzurri now because he loves the club and the team.”
“This summer the whole world talked about the possible transfer to another club, but in reality, he has decided to stay because he enjoys the tranquillity and considers Inter as his home. Lautaro is happy, he’s the captain of the team, and he is also expecting a child. So we have to work to make sure he remains happy.”
Martinez has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time. In 2018, the striker travelled to Europe from Racing Club to join Inter, where he has made 246 appearances.
If Martinez had agreed to join Man United, they might not have pursued Rasmus Hojlund as the Argentinian is a more established player. He appeared in 57 games for Inter last season, scoring 28 goals and having 11 assists. He also helped them reach the Champions League Final, where they were defeated by Manchester City.
This could have made it easier for him to leave and finally arrive at United. However, the striker wants to keep continuing at Inter – a club where he is absolutely loved and adored and a club that he now captains.
Rasmus Hojlund and Martinez could have helped the club by improving the attack and contributing goals, which the team currently needs. However, football is always an easy game in hindsight.
Martinez also would have provided experience to our attack, which Hojlund lacks at the moment. He is a proven goal-scorer, and no one can question his pedigree and qualifications if he had come to Old Trafford.
