Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag addresses Antony and Jadon Sancho’s absences
Speaking in the pre-match presser as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Erik ten Hag clearly states that Antony and Jadon Sancho’s exclusions from the Manchester United squad are of a totally different nature. None of the two cases coincide with each other.
A little more than two weeks after being given a leave of absence to address claims of violence made by Antony‘s ex-girlfriend and two other women, Antony is scheduled to resume full training and will be ready for selection once more.
The Brazilin is set to be back for the Dutchman very soon. Erik ten Hag will undoubtedly throw him straight back into the playing XI as there is no genuine competition for his spot, except for the emerging Facundo Pellistri.
On the other hand, the issue with Jadon Sancho does not seem to be coming close to a resolution. Sancho criticized Erik ten Hag publicly after the manager claimed that he was dropped from the squad against Arsenal due to his training levels.
Ten Hag, never someone to take prisoners decided to show who the boss is by banishing Jadon Sancho from first-team training. In the absence of the duo, Ten Hag has been forced to rely on the likes of Mason Mount and Facundo Pellistri in their positions.
One must consistently display their talent in order to earn a berth at a team like United. We also can’t forget the price tags that accompanied them. However, it is safe to say that both players have failed to live up to the billing.
Speaking about the situation, here is what Erik ten Hag had to say about Jadon Sancho and Antony
“Those issues are nothing to do with each other. One is internal and the other one is external”

We’ll have to wait and watch what Erik ten Hag does with Sancho at this point. If the case isn’t resolved, United will look to add another winger during the upcoming transfer window to fill the void. Right now we have Antony but let’s wait and be cautious about how it goes.
