The Brighton Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson can be player to lock horns with Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window

According to the Daily Mail, Evan Furguson can be a player to join Manchester United. By adding Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount during the summer transfer window, the Red Devils improved their attack. However, neither player has yet to significantly impact the club’s performances to date.

His season-opening goal by Ferguson helped Brighton defeat Luton 4-1. He came off the bench to start the game, but Danny Welbeck was his replacement for the final 12 minutes, when he scored the game’s final goal from close range.

According to talkSPORT (h/t The Mirror), CEO Paul Barber stated when asked about selling Evan,

“In Evan’s case at least five years time! Ultimately the technical staff are making the key decisions on where a player is in his development – whether he needs more first-team games or to go out on loan or whether we should be trading earlier or later.”

United might not feel compelled to make a move for Ferguson. Rasmus Hojlund, 20, was acquired from Atalanta for £72 million, and the club sees him as both a part of their present and future. Mason Mount also joined the club this transfer window but, sadly he got injured after just two games for the club.

Manchester United needs to increase their squad depth and Evan Ferguson can add value to it-

Ferguson knows the league very well and Ten Hag would be compelled to catch hold of him. With Anthony Martial’s form for the club degrading day by day, a replacement for him is crucial. This will add more depth to team. Squad depth is something that is lacking for the club.

When we look at Manchester City, for instance, every position has a suitable replacement. This is something United needs desperately. Ferguson and Hojlund can be a good attacking duo and obviously, we have Marcus Rashford who was in red-hot form last season.

His goal against Arsenal will surely help him gain confidence and add to the team’s value. It won’t be simple to sign the youngster, though, as Brighton might oppose a transfer if the striker keeps making a name for himself.

Ferguson’s upcoming few months shall be important for United whether to make the right move to get him to Old Trafford.
