Aston Villa are set to make a January move for Manchester United star Jadon Sancho

Transfer insider Dean Jones has informed GIVEMESPORT that Aston Villa are planning a January move for Manchester United star Jadon Sancho. Jones indicates key developments aiming to bring the 23-year-old to Villa Park, which makes the deal ‘very plausible.’

The Daily Star reported that Sancho is willing to leave United during the January transfer window. The Englishman had a public spat with the United manager Erik ten Hag and they’ve failed to settle their differences.

Ten Hag maintains strict discipline and squad harmony, handling insubordination firmly. The Dutch manager previously exemplified his strong leadership through the exodus of United icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT:

“It doesn’t feel like the sort of one that Tottenham are going to be looking for in the January window, from what I can tell at this stage, so I wouldn’t necessarily expect them to need to come back in for Jadon Sancho in a moment like that unless an easy loan or a really cheap deal opened up. Aston Villa, I’d say, is probably a bit more reasonable. We know that they’re going to be on the lookout again, for a player of that type, so I’d say that’s very plausible. But the big question for Jadon Sancho will be whether he even has a future within the Premier League or he needs to go back abroad again. I think that’s going to be the first thing that he has to address.”

Saudi Arabia club Al-Ettifaq attempted to sign Sancho on a loan deal before 8th September’s transfer deadline in Saudi Arabia. The attempted loan move for Sancho fell through because United insisted on a £50 million obligation-to-buy clause.

The Red Devils are currently facing a crisis in attacking positions due to the limited number of options available. United currently have Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Højlund, and Alejandro Garnacho as forward options.

United forward Antony was recently given a leave of absence by the club. The Red Devils also sent Mason Greenwood on loan at Getafe last summer.

The Red Devils are currently in 11th position in the Premier League after having an inconsistent start to the season. The Ten Hag’s side will look to set things right when the Premier League returns this weekend as United host Brighton and Hove Albion.
