Inter Milan are ready to make a £17m move for Manchester United star Donny van de Beek in January
According to reports in Spain via Manchester Evening News, Italian giants Inter Milan are readying a January offer for Manchester United star Donny van de Beek.
The Dutch midfielder was a star at Ajax Amsterdam and much was expected of him when he moved to Old Trafford in 2020. He scored on his debut against Crystal Palace but few then predicted that it would go on to be his high point in a Red Devils jersey.
Van de Beek has since made a total of 60 appearances for the club, scoring and assisting two goals apiece. To call the return underwhelming would be an understatement.
The Dutchman looks a far cry from the player who looked fearless at Ajax. A loan spell to Everton did him little favours and he is as further as ever from the Man United first XI as he has ever been.
Reuniting with former boss Erik ten Hag also was of no avail. It would appear that a parting of the ways is the best way forward for all parties. Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both interested and could yet swoop for him this summer. The Turkish window is open until September 16th giving the Red Devils some hope.
However, should a transfer fail to materialise, Italian side Inter Milan could swoop in to secure the 26-year-old in January. A bid worth £17m has been mooted and it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will consider it.
Van de Beek has been a proper let down for us and the sooner we part ways the better. The slower pace of the game in Serie A could prove to be his salvation, helping him rekindle the old flame. Having signed Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat (On loan), the club has already moved on.

Ten Hag has shown a habit of signing former players at Manchester United but even he could not salvage Van de Beek’s career at Old Trafford. Surely, it is time that he is now moved on.
