Regardless of the takeover, Manchester United are ready to hand a new contract to Erik ten Hag
As per a report from Daily Star, Manchester United are set to hand Erik ten Hag a new contract before the end of this year irrespective of whether the club is sold by then or not.
After the Nottingham Forest game, quite a few United fans stayed back at Old Trafford to chant against the Glazers and asked them to sell the club. Rumours of a Qatari takeover are still lingering around. We wait and see what happens regarding that.
Coming back to Ten Hag, his current contract at the club expires in 2025. The owners are contemplating offering him a two-year extension. They deem this decision as good on and off the field.
The Dutchman has done an exceptional job since arriving last summer. In his first season, he led the club to a Carabao Cup and a third-place finish in the league.
Although the start of this season has not been ideal, it is still six points gained from the possible nine. The mentality shown to come back from two goals down against Forest was phenomenal.
Whatever the fans think about the Glazers, and it is mostly negative stuff, their decision to potentially hand a new contract to the manager will be welcomed with glee.
Ten Hag has the tools as a manager to continue to improve this squad and make them challenge for a title in the coming years, if not this time.

The immediate concern is to make the final days of this transfer window count. United need a defender and a midfielder before the window is shut. Can they get it? The manager and the fans would hope so. The performance on the field can improve regardless though.
