Bayern Munich could offer Ryan Gravenberch as part of a swap deal where they get Scott McTominay
As per German outlet Bild (h/t Manchester Evening News), Bayern Munich are eyeing a move for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay and may include Ryan Gravenberch in a shocking swap deal.
We know United are in the market for a midfielder and Gravenberch is on their list along with arch-rivals Liverpool.
What we also know is that the Red Devils are open to cashing in on McTominay before this summer window ends. West Ham made a bid which was rejected a few days ago.
That could become a possibility now that Bayern are eyeing a move for him. Their manager Thomas Tuchel wants to sign a proper number six. Not sure if they want the 26-year-old Scotsman for that, but who are we to question their choices?
What United need to do is to accept this and make sure Gravenberch is part of the deal. The Dutchman could add a different multi-faceted dimension to the midfield that had been lacking in the first three games of this season.
Erik ten Hag’s men are also eyeing a move for Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat. So, it is either him or Gravenberch coming in and making the midfield stronger than before. Both players are better than McTominay. So, that is an instant upgrade.
Talking about the attributes of Gravenberch, he is a versatile player who can play in a double pivot, as one of the number eights in a three-man midfield or as a number 10 behind a striker like Rasmus Hojlund.
The Dutchman has incredible ability on the ball, he is tall and physically strong and does have the capability to play the box-to-box role.
At 21, he is only going to get better under the management of Ten Hag. United cannot pass on this opportunity to sign him. Let’s remember, Liverpool have been linked with a move for him as well. We know they are also in the market for a midfielder.
