Napoli will not pursue their efforts to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who is linked with Manchester United
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News), Napoli may ditch a move for 27-year-old Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat because of his £30million price tag.
Amrabat has been on top of United’s list of targets for this summer window but the delay in making a formal offer to Fiorentina has led to claims that suggest that other teams such as Napoli might be interested in acquiring the services of the player.
However, in a boost to United fans, it is believed that Napoli are not in the race to sign Amrabat, which could leave the gate open for United to complete the deal.
United have already sold Fred to Fenerbahce and they are waiting on the deal surrounding Donny Van de Beek before making a formal offer for Amarabat.
It is getting a little frustrating for both the player as well as the fans as the personal terms have been agreed upon for some time yet no further move has happened.
The situation reeks of the current scenario at United as no other top Premier League team would be acting in this manner.
Amrabat ideally should have been a United player by now but the way the United board works, it is no wonder that the deal is taking so much time to complete.
It is not an ideal situation as any club are in a position to hijack the deal towards the latter stages of the transfer window as the player is keen on a move away from Fiorentina.
