According to TalkSPORT (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have agreed to a £6m deal with Fenerbahce for goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

Bayindir (25) is highly rated in Turkey as one of the top upcoming keepers and will be United’s no.2 behind Andre Onana when the move is finalised.

It is speculated that Onana might miss games in January if selected for Cameroon for the Africa Cup of Nations and therefore United needed an able and steady no.2.

Bayindir has been decided as the chosen one who will soon arrive at Carrington to complete his transfer from Fenerbahce.

Bayindir’s transfer also means that the likelihood of a permanent exit for Dean Henderson has just increased with the shot-stopper gaining interest from Crystal Palace.

United need to sell to raise funds to make further additions to the squad with a need for a central midfielder pretty evident from the looks of the first two games.

Henderson’s sale would give the club the much-needed funds to concentrate on bringing further additions in before the transfer window closes.

It is clear that Henderson does not want to extend his career at United

as a deputy and wants a move where he would be guaranteed regular playing time.

Bayindir could prove to be an excellent alternative to Henderson once he moves to Old Trafford. However, it would be his first time playing in England and would be interesting to see how he adapts to the new league — if and when he gets the chance to deputise for Andre Onana this season.
