Sofyan Amrabat ‘training alone’ at Fiorentina amidst Manchester United interest
Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat is ‘training alone’ as he looks for a move away amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Calciomercato (h/t Metro).
Also, the midfielder has been left out of the Florence-based club’s squad to face Rapid Wien on Thursday (24 August). The Serie A outfit are set to take on the Austrian outfit in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers.
Therefore, it looks like the Morocco international is out of the plans at the Viola. However, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will be able to sanction a move for him.
As things stand, the Old Trafford side have not put in an official bid to sign the 26-year-old yet. The club are looking to offload players and balance their books before pursuing his signature.
Amrabat is familiar with Erik ten Hag, having played under him at FC Utrecht. The midfielder has already agreed personal terms with United and is keen on making the move this summer.
The Moroccan has caught a lot of people’s attention over the last few months. He was pivotal for the Atlas Lions as they made it to the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup. Fiorentina also made it to the final of the UECL in the previous campaign.
At United, Casemiro looks like the designated player for the number six position. However, the Brazilian has not started the new season well. Against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur, the 31-year-old struggled.
On the bench, we have Scott McTominay to provide cover in the absence of the former Real Madrid star. However, the Scotland international’s inconsistent performances at the Old Trafford side have been frustrating.
