Rasmus Hojlund expected to be fit for Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest
Manchester United expect Rasmus Hojlund to be fit to feature for the club against Nottingham Forest this weekend, according to The Sun.
The Red Devils will take on the Tricky Trees on 26 August at home in the Premier League. As things stand, the Old Trafford side are hopeful that the Denmark international will be able to take part in the game.
So far, the 20-year-old is yet to make his debut for United. The striker picked up an injury during pre-season while he was still at Atalanta.
As a result, Hojlund has missed the Red Devils’ opening two fixtures of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur. In both matches, the need for a quality number nine at the Old Trafford side was clearly evident.
United are optimistic that the forward will be fit enough to start on the bench in the Forest fixture. However, it remains to be seen whether the Danish national will be handed his first minutes for the Manchester-based club.
In the ongoing transfer window, the Red Devils paid Atalanta £72 million to acquire the services Hojlund. Therefore, the Old Trafford side arguably have immense faith in him.
However, the Danish national only scored 10 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions last season for the Bergamo-based club. Will the striker be the answer to our attacking woes? Only time will tell.
Erik ten Hag has relied on Marcus Rashford in the number nine position in the opening two games of the campaign. Unfortunately, the England international has not looked his best up top.

Anthony Martial is also at the gaffer’s disposal. However, the French national is unreliable due to his constant fitness issues. Thus, hopefully, Hojlund will return to full match fitness soon for United.
