Fiorentina open to keeping Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat this summer
Sofyan Amrabat could yet remain at Fiorentina in the ongoing transfer window amidst interest from Manchester United in his signature.
The Red Devils are looking to acquire the services of the Morocco international this summer, as per Italian outlet La Nazione. However, it remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will be successful in their pursuit of the midfielder.
Speaking on Fiorentina’s YouTube channel (h/t Manchester Evening News), the Viola’s director Daniele Prade revealed that the 26-year-old wanted to leave in the coming weeks. But unless a suitable offer arrives, the Serie A outfit will not sell him.
“The situation is clear. He wants to join a top club and we want to satisfy him, but if we receive no offers, he will stay with us. We don’t have a player like him in the team.”
In 2020, the Florence-based club signed Amrabat from Hellas Verona. Since then, he has been a pivotal member of the Italian outfit’s starting lineup over the years.
However, it was in the previous campaign when the midfielder caught a lot of people’s attention. The Moroccan was a star for his national side as they made it to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.
For Fiorentina, Amrabat ended up making 49 appearances in all competitions. The Viola made it to the UEFA Europa Conference League final but lost to West Ham United.
At Man United, Erik ten Hag has Casemiro at his disposal for the number six position. The Brazil international has been key to the little success we have enjoyed over the last year.
However, we have had to count on the former Real Madrid star massively due to a lack of adequate cover in the squad. Fred has left for Fenerbahce recently and Scott McTominay has been inconsistent at the Old Trafford side over the years.

Therefore, we could evidently do with a player like Amrabat in our ranks. But will the Red Devils be able to come to a consensus with Fiorentina? Only time will tell.
