West Ham United make ‘interesting’ offer to Fiorentina for Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat
Fiorentina have received an ‘interesting’ offer from West Ham United for Sofyan Amrabat amidst interest from Manchester United, according to reports in Italy via Sport Witness (h/t Mirror).
The Hammers have put in a bid that has caught the attention of the Serie A outfit. However, the Irons have not met the €30 million asking price set on the Morocco international by the Viola.
In the ongoing transfer window, the Red Devils have also been linked with a move for the midfielder. But the Old Trafford side are yet to put in a formal bid to acquire the 26-year-old’s services.
Earlier, Amrabat was keen on moving to Spain. Barcelona had him on their radar, while Atletico Madrid were also an option. However, it looks like the Premier League is the midfielder’s only credible destination.
Fiorentina got a hold of the Moroccan’s signature 2020. Over the years, he has gone from strength to strength, but last season the former Utrecht star was in especially impressive form.
Amrabat made it to the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup with his national side. The midfielder was a key player for Walid Regragui’s team. At the Florence-based club, the Moroccan made it to the finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
At Man United, Casemiro has cemented his place in the holding midfield position. The Brazil international put in another solid display for the Old Trafford side against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 14 August in the 1-0 win.
Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes started in the middle of the park alongside the former Real Madrid star. Off the bench, Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay also played a big role.

However, the Red Devils seem to lack adequate cover for Casemiro in the squad. Amrabat has showcased his defensive capabilities on the biggest stage in Qatar. But whether the Moroccan will replace Declan Rice at West Ham instead of moving to Manchester remains to be seen.
