Ajax Amsterdam manager dismisses Manchester United target Mohammed Kudus move to Brighton & Hove Albion
Maurice Steijn, the manager of Ajax Amsterdam, has dismissed talks of Manchester United target Mohammed Kudus moving to Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.
The Ghana international has been linked with a move to the Seagulls in the ongoing transfer window. Arsenal and the Red Devils have also been linked with the attacker recently.
However, speaking to media via Mirror, Steijn discarded suggestions of Kudus parting ways with the Eredivisie outfit in the coming weeks and expects him to stay as things stand.
“I have read a lot of reports about Kudus this week. But there is literally nothing right now that points to him leaving.”
Kudus made his way to Ajax in the summer of 2020. Back then, Erik ten Hag was the head coach of the side from the Netherlands. However, under the Dutch manager, the 23-year-old was a bit-part player.
But in the previous campaign, the attacker took the mantle at the Eredivisie outfit. The Ghanaian was the Eredivisie outfit’s talisman and led their line admirably.
Kudus has started the new season in fine fashion as well. The youngster found the back of the net in Ajax’s 4-1 win over Heracles Almelo in the first game in the league.
Brighton & Hove Albion have lost some important players this summer and could potentially lose more. With the Seagulls competing in the Europa League in the current campaign, it is not a surprise to see them pursuing some talented players.
As for United, we have added Rasmus Hojlund to our attack recently. However, we could still do with some more depth up front. The Danish national is on the sidelines for now, while Anthony Martial was injury-prone last season.

Kudus has showcased immense potential. However, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him. Hopefully, the Ghanaian will end up staying at Ajax for now, with the Red Devils pursuing him in the coming future.
