OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram also scouted by Manchester United
Manchester United scouts were keeping an eye on OGC Nice star Khephren Thuram apart from Jean-Clair Todibo recently, according to Get French Football News on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Les Aiglons took on LOSC Lille in their opening game of the 2023/24 term at home in the league. The Allianz Riviera side scored early in the first half and were leading for most of the match. However, Paulo Fonseca’s team managed to equalise in the final minutes of the fixture as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
While the Red Devils had their eyes on Nice’s centre-back, their midfielder was also being watched. The 22-year-old was substituted at around the hour mark on 11 August.
Thuram has been at the Ligue 1 outfit since the summer of 2019. After quickly establishing himself in the Allianz Riviera side’s starting lineup, he has been a key player for them.
Over the years, the French national has been a key player for Les Aiglons. In the previous campaign, the midfielder played mostly in the number six and number eight positions.
The 2022/23 term saw Thuram make 48 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing eight assists. Didier Deschamps also ended up calling the youngster to the national team setup.
At United, the middle of the park has seen the addition of Mason Mount from Chelsea this summer. However, it remains to be seen how many players will depart the Red Devils’ engine room by the end of the transfer window.
Casemiro and Christian Eriksen were Erik ten Hag’s preferred options in the midfield last season. However, the Old Trafford side had to sign Marcel Sabitzer on loan in January to add depth to our ranks.
