Lisandro Martinez motivated to bring success to Manchester United
Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez is motivated to bring success to the Old Trafford side in the 2023/24 term.
The Red Devils have added quality to their ranks in the ongoing transfer window. As of now, the likes of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund have been signed by the Old Trafford side.
In the previous campaign, Erik ten Hag managed to break our six-year trophy drought by winning the Carabao Cup. We also made it to the FA Cup final but were beaten by eventual treble winners Manchester City.
However, speaking on the club’s official website, Martinez seems to be determined to do more this season and feels wearing the Red Devils’ badge demands that.
“Well, I think when you look at this badge, you need to feel hungry. Motivation, you know, as this club demands everything, everything to win. So I think we have really good players and with a big mentality. I think it’s very important. If you want to win, you need to be ready and sharper every day.”
Ten Hag was appointed in the Old Trafford side’s dugout last year after we endured a difficult period under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick. Thankfully, the Dutch manager was able to steady the ship at the Manchester-based club.
Martinez was one of the gaffer’s first signings last summer. The former Ajax Amsterdam head coach reunited with the Argentina international after their successful stint in the Eredivisie.
The 25-year-old ended up forming an impressive partnership with Raphael Varane in our backline. Ten Hag preferred the two World Cup winners in his lineup and the duo were key to us finding the little success that we did.
United will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the first game of the season. We will take on the Molineux Stadium side on 14 August at home.

The Red Devils started off poorly in the previous campaign with losses to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford. But we still managed to make it to third place and attain a Champions League spot. Hopefully, we will commence much more positively this time around and challenge for the title.
