Donny van de Beek ‘keen’ on Real Sociedad move from Manchester United
Manchester United star Donny van de Beek is ‘keen’ on a move to Real Sociedad in the ongoing transfer window, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
As things stand, the Red Devils and the La Liga outfit are in contact regarding a move for the midfielder in the ongoing transfer window. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will be able to come to a consensus soon.
Right now, discussions are being held regarding the structure of the loan deal, i.e., the fee, how the Holland national’s salary will be covered and the clause to buy him next summer.
On Van de Beek’s end, he is interested in playing for La Real in the 2023/24 term. The former Ajax Amsterdam star is tempted by the project in Spain.
Imanol Alguacil managed to guide the La Liga outfit to a Champions League spot in the league last season. The White and Blues finished fourth in the table in the previous campaign.
Former Manchester City midfielder David Silva, who was a key player for La Real last season, has retired this summer. They evidently need to strengthen their squad since they will be playing in the UCL.
United signed Van de Beek in the summer of 2020 from Ajax. Unfortunately, the midfielder has been underwhelming at the Old Trafford side. Over the years, injuries have not helped his cause either.
However, while things do not seem to have gone to plan for the 26-year-old at the Old Trafford side, he showed immense potential at Ajax. The Holland national was a star player for the Eredivisie outfit when they made it to the Champions League semi-finals in the 2018/19 term.
