Facundo Pellistri to FC Twente from Manchester United to be clarified in the coming weeks
The future of Manchester United star and FC Twente target Facundo Pellistri this summer will be clarified in the coming weeks, according to Voetbal International (h/t Manchester Evening News).
As things stand, the Eredivisie outfit remain interested in acquiring the services of the 21-year-old in the ongoing transfer window. However, it remains to be seen whether the Enschede-based club will be able to get a hold of his signature.
In the summer of 2020, the Red Devils signed the Uruguay international from Penarol. Subsequently, the forward was loaned out to Deportivo Alaves for a season and a half.
Last summer, Pellistri stayed at the Old Trafford side. However, the youngster was unable to get any minutes under Erik ten Hag in the first half of the 2022/23 term.
Thankfully, the Uruguayan was handed his much-awaited debut against Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup fourth round. The winger came on as a substitute towards the end of the match and provided an assist in the 3-0 victory.
During pre-season, Pellistri has played a part in the Dutch manager’s plans. He has put in some decent displays. The forward found the back of the net in stoppage time during our friendly against Athletic Bilbao to hand us a draw.
On the right-hand side of the attack, Ten Hag relied on Antony for the most part last season. The Brazil international reunited with the gaffer last summer in Manchester and was his go-to player.
Unfortunately, the 23-year-old was inconsistent. Ten Hag did not trust the likes of Anthony Elanga, who has left for Nottingham Forest this summer, and Pellistri to compete with the former Ajax Amsterdam star.

The Uruguayan has showcased a lot of potential with the national side but has been unable to translate that at the Old Trafford side. Therefore, a temporary move away seems like a wise option for the youngster.
