Randal Kolo Muani puts in Eintracht Frankfurt transfer request amidst Manchester United links
Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani has put in a transfer request this summer amidst links to Manchester United, according to RMC Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have had the France international on their shortlist in recent weeks to bolster their forward line. However, it seems unlikely that the Old Trafford side will make a move for the striker now that they have signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.
While the 24-year-old is still on United’s radar, he favours a move to Paris Saint-Germain. The former Nantes player has also been eyed by Bayern Munich. But the Bavarians are focusing on signing Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.
Eintracht signed Kolo Muani in the summer of 2022 as a free agent. The forward has turned out to be a massive bargain. He showcased incredible prolificity and creativity in the previous campaign.
Last season, the attacker was the Bundesliga outfit’s talisman. He made 46 appearances in all competitions for the German side, scoring 23 goals and providing 17 assists.
The 24-year-old also shone for Les Bleus in the 2022 World Cup. He provided an assist in the final as Didier Deschamps’ team missed out on the prestigious trophy to Argentina.
At United, the addition of Hojlund has added much-needed quality and depth to the number nine position. Before the Danish national’s signing, Anthony Martial was the only natural striker in our ranks.
During pre-season, Erik ten Hag has had to experiment with Jadon Sancho playing up front. In the 2022/23 term, the gaffer also relied on Marcus Rashford a lot to play out of position.
