Barcelona offered €50 million by Manchester United for Andreas Christensen
Manchester United have made a €50 million offer to buy Andreas Christensen from Barcelona in the ongoing transfer window, according to El Nacional (h/t Mirror).
As things stand, the Old Trafford side are pushing to get a hold of the Denmark international’s signature this summer. The Red Devils are willing to initially pay the Blaugrana €35 million for the centre-back, with €15 million in variables.
However, while the Catalan outfit are open to selling the centre-back for the aforementioned price, they want more of it up front. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the Manchester-based club will revise their proposal.
At the moment, Eric Bailly is expected to leave United in the coming weeks. Harry Maguire is also attracting interest from other teams. Thus, the Red Devils could opt to bolster their backline.
Christensen signed for Barcelona last summer as a free agent. The 27-year-old enjoyed a magnificent debut campaign at the Blaugrana, winning the league title.
The centre-back has prior experience in the Premier League as well. At Chelsea, the Danish national spent several years before moving to Spain. The defender was a key player for the West London club before his exit.
When it comes to United, Erik ten Hag has Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez at his disposal. The French and Argentine nationals were impressive as a duo in the previous campaign.
Apart from them, the Red Devils can also call upon Victor Lindelof. The gaffer trusted the Swedish national with an important backup role in the team last season.

Even though our current centre-back pairing is solid, Varane has had multiple fitness issues since moving to Manchester. Therefore, we could evidently do with another quality defender in our ranks. But will Christensen opt to make a switch to the Old Trafford side? Only time will tell.
