Manchester United want Marcos Leonardo after Rasmus Hojlund transfer
According to Calciomercato (h/t The Express), Manchester United are interested in signing Santos striker Marcos Leonardo after completing the signing of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.
Erik Ten Hag got his wish fulfilled of a proper no. 9 before the season started with boyhood fan and immensely talented Hojlund making the way to Old Trafford.
However, it seems like Ten Hag is not fully convinced of having just one out-and-out striker and considering the injury record of Anthony Martial, it actually does make sense to look in the market for another option.
Accordingly, United are keeping tabs on Santos’s highly-rated youngster Leonardo with the Brazilian club ready to sell the striker for around £13m.
Lazio, AS Roma and Nottingham Forest are also in the mix for the player but it remains to be seen whether any of the mentioned clubs will move forward with their interest.
It is believed that the player is keen on working with Jose Mourinho hence Roma has an advantage in the race for the Brazilian but the recent loan signing of Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham United might change his stance.
For United as well, the potential incoming are hugely dependent on the outgoings of a few of the players with Fred, Donny Van De Beek Scott Mctominay, Harry Maguire and Dean Henderson all could generate some revenue for the club.
