Manchester United have reduced their asking fee for defender Harry Maguire amid interest from West Ham United and Everton
According to the Independent (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have valued defender Harry Maguire following interest from West Ham United and Everton.
Maguire was stripped of the United captaincy before the start of this season with Bruno Fernandes being chosen as the new club captain.
There are also reports that Erik Ten Hag is keen to add Johnny Evans to the squad and likely to offer the 35-year-old veteran a one-year deal with the manager being impressed with Evan’s leadership and technical qualities.
This further adds to the speculation that United are willing to let Maguire go this summer to recoup some of the enormous transfer fee paid to Leicester City.
For that purpose, they have even slashed the valuation of the player to £30m in a bid to attract clubs to move forward with their interest.
West Ham had an opening offer rejected by the club as it was deemed too low and they could be back with another offer in the coming days.
Whereas Everton have also signalled their interest in the England International and could place a bid for the player. It remains to be seen whether Maguire will be keen on the move as well as of now he is claimed to have wanted to stay and fighting for his place at United.

However, there seems to be only one outcome possible if he does end up staying at United. The 30-year-old will not feature in many games and this could directly affect his chances for the Euros 2024 Championships.
