Manchester United have sent an improved offer for Atalanta BC forward Rasmus Hojlund
According to Sport Italia (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have made an improved offer for Atalanta BC forward Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund has been the primary target to solve the striker issue at United and the player is keen on the move, having rejected the advances of Paris St. Germain in order to fulfil his dream of playing at Old Trafford.
Personal terms between the player and the club are not an issue. However, a major stumbling block has been Atalanta’s asking fee for the player and United’s reluctance to go beyond a certain price.
There are hopes that a compromise could be made between the two sides which has led to the improved offer of £53m with £4.2m add-ons by United for Hojlund.
Atalanta are looking for around £60m for the striker hence the difference between the two is not much, which is understood to be in a position that can be resolved soon.
On the other hand, Erik Ten Hag is keen to get his targets as early as possible with the Premier League just three weeks away.
It would take time for any new player to adjust to the surroundings and the style of play therefore it is better to get the new signings in as early as possible.
Hojlund, although not a finished article and just one season in a top European flight under his belt, has shown immense potential and if developed properly, he has the capacity to turn into a top-class striker.
However, if the signing does happen, the fans have to show patience with the Danish striker as he is still a rough diamond and would need time to adapt to the Premier League, which by no means is an easy task.
