Ajax Amsterdam chief does not expect offers for Manchester United target Mohammed Kudus
Sven Mislintat, the sporting director of Ajax Amsterdam, does not expect to receive offers for Manchester United target Mohammed Kudus anytime soon.
The Red Devils have the Ghana international on their radar as an option if a deal for Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund fails to materialise. Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in the 22-year-old.
However, speaking to Voetbal International (h/t Manchester Evening News), Mislintat is not anticipating any team making a move for Kudus in the ongoing transfer window.
“I don’t expect an offer very soon. Perhaps the interest is not as serious as everyone thinks.”
Ajax have lost a number of major stars over the last year. In the summer of 2022, United signed Lisandro Martinez and Antony from the Eredivisie outfit.
Subsequently, in recent weeks, De Godenzonen have had to part ways with an influential player like Dusan Tadic. Jurrien Timber has also been sold to Arsenal.
Kudus has established himself as the talisman at Ajax in the previous campaign. The Ghanaian led their attack on a number of occasions, playing as a centre-forward or on the right wing.
The 22-year-old made 42 appearances in all competitions for the Eredivisie outfit, scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists. He was also impressive in the 2022 World Cup for the Black Stars.
At United, the number nine position is evidently understaffed. Anthony Martial is the only natural striker at Erik ten Hag’s disposal. Unfortunately, the French national has had his fair share of injury issues in recent months. Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford have played as centre-forwards during pre-season.

Therefore, we evidently need more quality and depth in the striking department. Kudus will arguably provide additional support up front. The Dutch manager is also familiar with the Ghanaian. However, whether the Old Trafford side will pursue his signature remains to be seen.
