Rasmus Hojlund is flattered by interest from PSG but has his heart set on Manchester United
As per French outlet FootMercato (h/t Manchester Evening News), Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund is flattered by interest from PSG but has his heart set on a move to Manchester United.
After United made a €60m (€50m plus €10m add-ons) bid to sign the Danish international, PSG came up with a €50m offer and shared their intentions that this will be their only bid.
Atalanta have made it clear that any deal will happen when an offer of something around €70m is made. For the Red Devils, personal terms are not an issue as the 20-year-old has agreed to that.
What we can infer from this is that Hojlund is ready to move to Old Trafford regardless of what PSG are offering. Thankfully from United’s perspective, the French giants are offering a transfer fee less than them. That might give them an upper hand when dealing with Atalanta.
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag stated in a recent press conference that the club should do all they can to sign a striker this summer.
That plea seems to have reached the hierarchy of the club. Although the bid is €10m short of what Atalanta want for Hojlund, it is not far from that as well.
The hope is that this deal gets concluded soon so that Hojlund joins the United pre-season squad with at least a week or 10 days remaining till the start of the actual season.
