Manchester United match £30 million valuation on Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat
Manchester United have decided to match the £30 million valuation on Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat this summer, according to Sport Italia (h/t Express).
The Red Devils are looking to acquire the services of the Morocco international in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, the Old Trafford side are ‘one step away’ from getting a hold of the 26-year-old’s signature.
United are looking to add more strength in the engine room this summer. We have already signed Mason Mount from Chelsea recently. However, Erik ten Hag is keen on adding Amrabat to his ranks as well.
The Red Devils are looking to add an understudy to Casemiro in their ranks. The Brazil international has cemented his place in the number six position at the Old Trafford side.
Initially, United were reluctant to meet Fiorentina’s demands. However, the Manchester-based club have increased their offer for the Moroccan and the Viola are expected to accept it.
The 26-year-old has been at the Florence-based club for some time now. However, the midfielder has caught a lot of people’s attention in recent months after making it to the 2022 World Cup semi-finals with the Atlas Lions and playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League final for the Serie A outfit.
In the previous campaign, while Casemiro added much-needed quality to our engine room, we struggled in his absence. Fred and Scott McTominay were unable to provide adequate cover.
At the moment, the former Shakhtar Donetsk star and the Scotland international have uncertain futures at the Old Trafford side. Therefore, we will evidently need to add depth to the squad if they end up leaving.
