Rasmus Hojlund is flattered by interest from PSG but has his heart set on Manchester United.

Manchester United to submit first bid to sign Rasmus Hojlund next week

As per a tweet from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are preparing to make a first bid next week to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.

It is revealed that although United have agreed on personal terms with the player and will bid for him soon, French champions Paris-Saint Germain are keeping an eye on him.

As a result, the Red Devils would not want any transfer hijack and hope to get this deal over the line sooner rather than later. The striker prefers a move to Old Trafford.

It is good to know that United are working towards solving an important issue the squad had going into this transfer window.

As much as it was a necessity to sign Andre Onana to give him that number one role after the departure of David de Gea, the club must sign a striker to get the squad close to being ready to challenge for big trophies next season.

Although Hojlund is still a young striker, his numbers at the club and national level have been good. The 20-year-old scored nine goals and assisted four in 32 Serie A appearances last season. He played less than 2000 minutes in those appearances (Transfermarkt).

He also has a good record with the Denmark senior team thus far, with six goals in six appearances. He has the talent and finishing prowess to do well for Erik ten Hag’s team at Old Trafford.

As mentioned in the tweet, with PSG around, United would want to get this deal soon. It is probably a blessing in disguise that the French side are chasing the player too. This could force the Red Devils to be quick with their work to get the negotiation over the line.
