Amad Diallo injury “not serious” after Manchester United vs Arsenal
Manchester United star Amad Diallo suffered an injury against Arsenal, but the winger is expected to be okay as the knock is nothing to be worried about.
The Red Devils took on the Gunners on 22 July at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho found the back of the net for the Old Trafford side as we beat Mikel Arteta’s team 2-0.
Man United went into the break with a two-goal advantage. Subsequently, Erik ten Hag made several changes at half-time, including the substitution of Amad. Unfortunately, the Ivorian’s stint did not last long as he was replaced at around the hour mark.
Initially, it did not look good as the youngster was seen on crutches. However, taking to social media via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the 21-year-old gave a positive update regarding his situation.
“I feared the worst. Alhamdoulilah it’s nothing serious! I will be back soon.”
Amad started for the Old Trafford side against Leeds United and Olympique Lyon prior to the Arsenal game. The forward put in a decent showing and caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays.
Next, the first team will take on Real Madrid in Texas on 27 July. It remains to be seen whether the Ivorian will be fit enough to feature against the Spanish giants.
The 21-year-old has been at the Red Devils since January 2021. However, over the last few years, the winger has mostly been out on loan. He thrived in the previous campaign at Sunderland.
At Man United, the right-hand side of the attack relied heavily on Antony in the 2022/23 term. Ten Hag did not trust the other options at his disposal to provide cover on the right wing.
