Manchester United agree personal terms with Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund
According to The Athletic (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Rasmus Hojlund and are still some way off in agreeing a deal with Atalanta.
Hojlund has been identified as the primary target by United to solve the striker problem and it is a huge boost to the club that personal terms have been agreed.
The Danish striker is super keen on a move to United but Atalanta wants a heavy sum in the region of around €70m to sell the talented striker.
United are not willing to pay that much for a player who is at the beginning of the year and although carries extraordinary potential, he is still some time off from being the finished article.
Hence, the two clubs would need to find a middle ground if they are to agree to a deal and there could be a possibility of Hojlund handing in a transfer request, like Antony last season, to force a move to United.
There are still question marks over whether Hojlund is the missing piece in the current United side which can make them title contenders and many claims would suggest that it is not, at least for the upcoming season.
However, Erik Ten Hag does seem to have a knack for bringing the best out of players and if he sees potential in Hojlund, then we all should be on board with him.
It is easier to mould a rough diamond than to make an established striker change his way of playing to suit the team better.’
With Hojlund, Ten Hag would be able to get him ready to play the way he wants his strikers to play and if the player does adapt, then United would not have to worry about a centre-forward for the foreseeable future.

Andre Onana’s deal is almost in its final stages after which the club would presumably go all out for Hojlund and hopefully are able to secure his signing before the pre-season ends. It is about time we bring in a proper No. 9 for the present and the future.
