Bruno Fernandes rejected offers from Saudi Arabia to stay at Manchester United
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes rejected offers from Saudi Arabia this summer to stay at the Old Trafford side, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
Last month, the Portugal international was twice approached by the Saudi Pro League. However, the midfielder was not interested in moving to the Middle East and rebuffed the proposition.
As things stand, the 28-year-old is committed to the project at the Red Devils. The playmaker is even expected to become the next captain of the club after Harry Maguire was stripped of the armband.
Cristiano Ronaldo was arguably the first major star to make his way to Saudi. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner signed for Al-Nassr in January after leaving United mid-way through last season.
This summer, the Saudi Pro League have continued their spending spree. The likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves and Marcelo Brozovic have been tapped up by different teams from the Middle Eastern country.
Thankfully, Fernandes decided to stay at the Old Trafford side. It seemingly showcases the dedication the Portuguese has towards the Red Devils.
United signed the playmaker in January 2020 from Sporting CP and he has since been an inspirational addition to the team. Over the years, the 28-year-old has been pivotal to the little success we have had.
Fernandes has cemented a place for himself in the Manchester-based club’s number 10 position. In the previous campaign, the midfielder made 59 appearances in all competitions for us, scoring 14 goals and providing 15 assists.

Apart from being a world-class talent, the Portuguese is also one of United’s leaders on the pitch. Hopefully, the 28-year-old will stay at the Theatre of Dreams for many years to come and we will win a few major trophies along the way.
