Everton hold talks with Manchester United for forward Anthony Elanga
Premier League rivals Everton are holding talks with Manchester United to sign Anthony Elanga in the ongoing transfer window, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The Goodison Park side are looking to acquire the services of the Sweden international this summer. To that end, negotiations are taking place at the moment between the Toffees and the Red Devils for the youngster.
As things stand, a number of other teams have the 21-year-old on their radar. However, the Merseyside outfit are leading the race to get a hold of the forward’s signature.

Elanga made his way through the youth ranks and established himself in the first-team setup under Ralf Rangnick in the previous campaign.
The Swedish national put in a decent shift last season when called upon by the former interim head coach. However, the youngster has not had a lot of opportunities to feature since the arrival of Erik ten hag.
In the 2022/23 term, the 21-year-old was a bit-part player for the Dutch manager. The forward made 26 appearances in all competitions, starting just five games in the Premier League.
United signed Antony last summer from Ajax Amsterdam. Ten Hag relied on the 23-year-old to play on the right wing. The Brazil international had a mixed season and injuries hampered his progress a bit as well.
As for the left-hand side of the attack, Marcus Rashford was the go-to option. The England international was our leading goalscorer in the previous campaign. However, Alejandro Garnacho also broke onto the scene. We also have Jadon Sancho in our ranks.

It seems like Elanga is surplus to requirements at the Old Trafford side. Therefore, it would be best for both parties to part ways. Everton do not have a lot of quality options in their attack. Thus, the Swedish national will evidently be expected to play more there.
