Saudi Arabian clubs and Fulham interested in Manchester United midfielder Fred
Fulham will have to compete with clubs in Saudi Arabia to acquire the services of Manchester United star Fred this summer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
As things stand, the midfielder’s current contract at the Old Trafford side is set to expire next summer. However, the Brazil international realises the importance of having more game time.
To that end, the 30-year-old could part ways with the Red Devils in the ongoing transfer window. He will also be represented by new agents going forward, the same people who oversee Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus.

Fred has the opportunity to remain in the Premier League with Fulham. However, Saudi Arabia has become an attractive destination for a lot of star players since Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Al-Nassr.
Therefore, it remains to be seen where the Brazilian’s future lies. United signed the 30-year-old in the summer of 2018 from Shakhtar Donetsk and has been a key player since.
However, with the arrival of Erik ten Hag, Fred has lost his place in the starting lineup. The midfielder made 56 appearances in all competitions in the 2022/23 term but started just 12 league games.
Last summer, we signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen and they were preferred by the gaffer as the double pivots in the previous campaign. The former Real Madrid star cemented his place in the Red Devils’ team.
Now, we have also signed Mason Mount from Chelsea. The England international is arguably an upgrade over the former Shakhtar Donetsk star. Ten Hag also has Scott McTominay at his disposal.

Thus, Fred will seemingly see his game time dwindle further in the upcoming campaign. It will be interesting to see whether the allure of the Saudi Pro League will entice the Brazilian as well.
