Fiorentina chief denies Manchester United rumours regarding Sofyan Amrabat
Joe Barone, the CEO of Fiorentina, has denied receiving any offer from Manchester United for Sofyan Amrabat in the ongoing transfer window.
As per RAI Sport via Football Italia (h/t Manchester Evening News), the Red Devils are interested in the Morocco international and have already agreed personal terms with him.
However, speaking to the media via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Barone dismissed any approach being made for the midfielder as of yet. The Florence-based club will consider the 26-year-old’s departure once they receive a concrete bid.

Fiorentina signed Amrabat in the winter window of 2020 before he joined them the following summer. Subsequently, over the years, the Moroccan has been a key player for the Viola.
However, the Florence-based club have not necessarily been the most successful club in Italy. Although, they made it to the Europa Conference League final last season but lost to West Ham United.
As for the midfielder, he caught a lot of people’s attention during the 2022 World Cup. Thus, it is understandable that the 26-year-old will want to take the next step in his career and join a big club.
At United, our engine room lacks strength in depth. In January 2022, we had to sign Marcel Sbaitzer on loan from Bayern Munich after Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen were sidelined due to injury.
Casemiro has been pivotal to our success. Without him, the Red Devils struggled to perform at their best level in the previous campaign. Unfortunately, Scott McTominay and Fred were unable to provide adequate cover when the former Real Madrid star did not play last season.

Therefore, a move for Amrabat seems like a wise option. However, it remains to be seen how much money it will take to convince Fiorentina to let the Moroccan leave and whether the Old Trafford side will put in an offer for him.
