Manchester United star in talks to re-unite with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr

Manchester United star David de Gea is apparently in talks with Al-Nassr over a free transfer this summer.

Recently, there were claims that the Red Devils went back on their promise made to De Gea over a contract extension. Apparently, De Gea signed a new deal.

But Manchester United revoked the offer and asked him to take a further pay cut if he wanted to stay. Now, the Sun claim that Al-Nassr are in talks with the Spanish superstar.

As of July 1, he is a free agent. It would mean he could join Faris Najd as a free agent — the club who have Cristiano Ronaldo as their poster boy.

Reunion at Al-Nassr?

Ronaldo left United on bitter terms in November after his contract was mutually terminated. He joined Al-Nassr at the turn of the year and the 38-year-old has since had a decent time there.

De Gea arrived at Old Trafford two years after Ronaldo left to join Real Madrid in 2009. But they played together at Man United from CR7’s arrival in the summer of 2021 to his exit the following year.

De Gea has been a liability at times in goal. At 32, and given his notable errors in recent seasons, perhaps the Red Devils are not wrong in wanting to keep him at the club on lowered wages.

He is in his 30s, after all, and isn’t doing anything to warrant a handsome pay package. That being said, De Gea is well within his rights to do as he pleases now.
