Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are expected to come close to the €80 million valuation SL Benfica have placed on Goncalo Ramos, according to Correio da Manha (h/t Manchester Evening News).

Rui Costa, the president of the Lisbon-based club, believes the likes of the Red Devils and other interested teams will be willing to almost offer the aforementioned price for the young striker.

At the moment, the Old Trafford side are looking to bolster their forward line in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, the 22-year-old, along with a number of other options, is being monitored by United.

Several clubs around Europe have their eyes on Ramos after his brilliant 2022/23 season. Erik ten Hag is also an admirer of the youngster.

The Portuguese caught a lot of people’s attention in the previous campaign. In the 2022 World Cup, the 22-year-old made waves as he scored a hat-trick against Switzerland in the round of 16.

As things stand, PSG have a void in their attack after Lionel Messi parted ways with them this summer. Kylian Mbappe and Neymar’s futures are also up in the air.

On the other hand, United have a lack of quality in depth up front. Anthony Martial was on the sidelines for most of last season. Subsequently, the Red Devils got Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley in January.

Unfortunately, the Holland international was seemingly not up to the Old Trafford side’s standards and put in some poor displays.

Therefore, we could evidently do with a prolific goalscorer in our ranks. Ramos is still young and has a long way to go in his career. However, the 22-year-old has shown promising signs so far. But will United match Benfica’s valuation? Only time will tell.
